Password protect your private Jisti conferencing server
If you need to password protect your Jitsi conferencing server, we have created a helpful script to automate this for you.
This is somewhat technical, so if you're unsure simply raise a ticket with our support team, who would be happy to help.
Step 1 - Log into your Jitsi server
You can either log into your server via SSH, or work with it directly from the control panel.
Your server's root password is visible via your control panel. The default user is "root".
Step 2 - Run our pre-built script
Once you've logged into your server, run our pre-built script to secure it.
This should be copied/entered into the console verbatim:
Step 3 - Select a username and password
During the running of the script, you will be prompted to create a username and password to access your server.
Enter these, and the script will do the rest.
Step 4 - Test that it has worked
That's it! Your server should now be password protected.
Test this by navigating to https://yourserver.domain.com, it should now prompt for a username and password.
